I call out to the Gods of Afterdawn for assistance. I'm trying to save some compression on my Shrink rips by studying your guide. However, I'm a little confused when I'm trying to back up a movie with multiple main movie titles on the disc. What are the differences between the two (they seem to be about the same size). Do I need both for any reason? I appreciate any advice.

I asked the same question awhile back and was told (I forgot who told me) that the first title is the widescreen.

Im not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing.

Hello.

Use the DVD player embedded in Shrink to see what each title represents. Just select the title and click the play arrow of the player. If there's just two main titles, one could be widescreen and the other pan and scan as Zev0 noted. Pick the one you want and reauthor or if your keeping the menus etc, just set the compression level to Still Image for the title you don't want.

Depending on the title it's also possible the same video is authored into 2 identical (or nearly identical) titles. In some cases this is done to put multiple versions of the same movie on the DVD (multiple endings or a directors cut with a theatrical version for example) but in other cases it's just to fool backup software into thinking the DVD is bigger than it really is.
