0078FK Flashing Problems

I recently got a 360 with a hitatchi 0078fk drive and have been having the hardest time flashing it. Apparrently the only way to do it is to use the Slax 2.0 meathod of mode B. I have tried this and never been able to get the drive in mode B ( I always get some error as linix is booting up. I have tried with 2 different computers one with a Nforce 4 chipset and the other with onboard VIA 8237.
The steps I followed are

1. Made sure Sata was on IDE
2.Pluged in Xbox 360 driveto a SATA master port
3. booted with SLAx 2.0 alpha 1 (turned on Xbox 360 at various times to try to get it to work)
4. would get an error the drive would not be recognized by windows (but the bios found it)

Does anyone know what to do I have read about every thing I can on Xbox-scene and can't figure anything out. Is there a certan PCI card I could buy that would make the process go smoother?

Also I am sure the xbox is still working because I put it back together and it runs fine.

I had a hard time getting windows to find mine also. At first I had a hard time getting my pci card to disable raid when I got that fixed windows would lock up when drive was connected. So first off make sure raid is not on, and second when the windows loading screen comes up eject the drive a couple of times (this didnt' work for me I would just unhook sata cable just before windows loading screen come up, and reconnect after logging in). Not to go over the same things, but just to make sure you got all the steps right... First power on xbox(sata hooked up to pc). Power on pc with slax in pc rom. After slax gets to the login screen press ctrl+alt+del(some say not to power off pc) take out slax cd. Then you will have the options to do one of the two things above at loading screen either eject tray a few times or just unhook. And hopefully windows will see drive now. Also try to use the via chipset computer. If all else fails you could try and get a via 6421 chipset. I got mine here. One more thing is to try and get slax 2.1 it is more compatible with other chipsets.
