So I got my new Xbox 360 already had the firmware on it and everything. Now I just need to get a DL dvd writer and some DL DVD's correct? is there anything else I will need? I know there is a tutorial on this site but I have been to plenty of tutorials and most mention something about needing a samsung sh-d162 dvd drive or the pioneer 111d. so basically what would I need to begin backing up my precious $60 a pop 360 games? any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon

Well if you dont want to keep taking your xbox apart to back up games then i'd recommend the samsung SD-162c. if you're in the uk you can get one from dabs.com for £13 & flash it yourself, alternatively they are going on ebay preflashed for about £20. Once this is flashed with Kreon's firmware you can back games up on your pc with no hassle's.
As for burning the games, everyone does recommend the pioneer 111D ( i have one of these) I also use a sony DW D22a and have no probklems with that. I think the important thing is the media you are using, Verbatim's are the best for making no coasters but there are other media that will work for you.

software that you will need is

for ripping the game you can use xbox backup creator (2.3 is latest version) or schtrom (3.1 is latest version but i'd use 3.0)
for burning the disks get your self clone cd or imgburn, they both do the job juyst depends what you prefer. I use clone cd but others will swear by imgburn so thats up to you to see what works best for you :-)
