What is the best firmware version to allow me to play ISO files, as well as emulators?

Also is it preferably to not have a TA-082?

You have to have firmware 1.5 or 2.71 SE (a custom firmware) to upgrade to 3.02 OE-A.

To install 3.02 OE-A and upgrade it to 3.02 OE-B, see my guide:

If I get a 2.71 psp, is that different than your 2.71 SE? Will it be good to go as far as downgrading to 1.5 or 3.02oe-a (im assuming the latter is preferred)

You can't downgrade from 2.71 to firmware 3.02 OE.

If you get a PSP with firmware 2.71 but without a TA-082 motherboard, then you can downgrade to firmware 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.02 OE-A/B.

Yeah you can downgrade firmware 2.8.

No you can't downgrade a PSP with a TA-082 motherboard- the downgrader which was released a few weeks ago was fake.

If you get a TA-082 mobo than just download this, run devhook to emulate 1.50 on your 2.71 TA-082 PSP, and play homebrew and ISO's.

Your PSP doesn't have to have a TA-082 motherboard to run it. That ZAiO package works for any firmware 2.71 PSP.

Why would you even want to run it with 2.71 without a TA-082 motherboard...it would be stupid to do that.

I'll rather just downgrade to 1.50 using the easy downgrader..

it's good to know though, if you don't want to downgrade..

thanks again for the replies everyone; they've been very helpful.

What would you guys say is the best firm to use right now? Sounds like 3.02 is pretty nice b/c you can get the best of both worlds with ISOs with the upgrades/web browser.

What are the specs on your PSPs?

No problemo..

I have a Black PSP - 2.71 TA-082 currently running HEN-D and emualting 1.50 and using devhook to play homebrew.

I am anxiously waiting for a TA-082 downdater/grader because 3.02 OE-B is definately the best firmware to use currently with ISO's/Hombrew...etc

So the non TA-082 1.5 fw is the best bet?
Or is the 2.71/2.8 better for any reason?

It sounds like id like to go for the 1.5 non TA-082 and upgrade to 3.02 oe-b

Should I go for that?
