Help with on/off switch for slim ps2

I recently bought a replacement on/off chip for my slim ps2 because I accidentally broke my old one. When I hooked up the cable to it, it didn't work. I don't think the chip is bad so what could the problem be? Is it the cable? or could it be some breaker or fuse that I don't know about? Any help would be great... since I just got guitar hero 2 for x-mas and can't play it now... -_- You help is appreciated.

Yeah there is probably a fuse somewhere that got blown, there's a diagram floating around these forums somewhere but I forget where. Oh, and you'll love the game hope you get it working.

I bought a replacement switch for my slim ps2 also (I took it apart and lost the switch) I bought three and they came broken then I got a refund and bought from richspsxparts.com it came working fine.

Or if that doesnt work buy a broken slim ps2 with a disk read error off ebay and change the laser with yours or change your mother board with the broken ps2's
