is there a way to get better quality on your uploads i see some with good quality

As I understand it all uploads are re-encoded (probably via ffmpeg) to flv1's. No real way to control the quality. Best you could do is upload the best possible quality source.

http://www.vimeo.com/ lets the user also download the original source video file for 100% quality.
