Info:
My PS2: SCPH 39004. Origional PS2, the bigger one.
Brothers PS2: SCPH 30004, rest is same as mine.
DVD's I use: DVD+R. The brand is Philips (maybe a band only sold in Holland, I don't know). 4.7GB. I burn them at 2.4 (burning speed)
Swap Magic: Version 3.6

Problem 1:
My brother and I are sharing this system.
We both use the same swap magic disks, games, and even the same kind of PS2 (we both have one though).

Now, my PS2 plays MOST the games perfectly. My brothers PS2 has some loading problems though. Some games have really long loding times and some don't play at all!

And the strange thing is. When I play (for example) a DBZ game the loading times are really slow. But when I play for a second time they're normal again. (and vise versa)

Could you solve this problem?

Problem 2:
Ok.. Back to my own PS2. (SCPH 39004)
I downloaded this game 'Superman Returns' for the PS2. I loaded it up with my swap magics DVD. Well it took 5 minutes to start the game up to the title screen. And it took 10 minutes to go away from it.
So the game works. But it won't go the normal speed it should go.
(Note: The game is pretty big 4GB+)

Could someone solve this too?

use better blank dvds like verbs or sony

Don't want to sound rude. But are you sure about that. Philips DVD's are pretty good.
And are you sure that that is the problem? Because some games work and some don't. And some times the work better then other times.

I just want to be sure, that's all. :)

Could it be the Swap Magic 3.6? Or will it play all the games as it should?

List of games:

Superman Returns: 4+ GB. Slow or doesn't start.
Canis Canem Edit: 4.31GB. Slow and stops working in the loading time. (tells me to place the disk in the PS2)
NHL 2007: 4.36 GB. Slow or doesn't work.
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2: 2.93GB. Slow

Shadow of the colossus: 4.31GB. Works
Bloody Roar: 2+GB. Works


I really really really want to play these games.. Please help me..
If someone confirms it's the fault of the blank DVD's it would be great. Or if some one has an other solution.. PLS HELP! :(

First of all Shadow of the colossus is 2.5 GB not 4.13 GB

Philips DVDs are good but not good enough for the ps2 because the ps2 lense is very weak and is made to read very high quality original DVDs
It looks like you ps2 has trouble running big games and that's why only SOTC and BR work well
Also the games that don't work propery for you are games that a lot of people are having trouble running like bully and superman and the only way to get these games running is to use very high quality blank DVDs
Trust me I have seen the difference in using high quality DVDs and low quality DVDs
If you are not sure then buy one Blank made in Japan Sony DVD and burn one of these games and run it.

Wait. So I can just buy a Sony blank DVD at any store... But, do I need +R or -R??
