hi can someone tell me please is it possible to burn xbox 360 games from original games like you can with ps2 games and if so whats the best way to do this.just got a 360 and thinking of getting the xtreme upgrade but want to know if i can do back ups from original games as thats how i used to do it on the ps2 and would rather do that then download etc.thanks :o)

yes you will need a samsung sh-d162c dvd rom drive flashed with kreon 0.81 firmware and appropriate software (xbox backup creator is one such piece)to rip your originals to backup.

I'm not talking about the 360 drive, its a dvd rom which you fit into the pc and rip from there and then burn with a dvd rewriter (pioneer 111 is recommended).

Is the Samsung SH-D162C drive the only drive you can us for the computer to back up xbox360 games or are there others that can be used?

can you use the Hitachi drive in the xbox360 to back-up games to the computer? If so, is there something that needs to be done to either the samsung drive or the hitachi drive to be recognized by the computer or to back-up the games

You can burn and play burned CD's on the XBOX 360, however, there is a soft mod required. The cost is around $25.00 to have this done. It is inexpensive and will allow you to run burned games without interruption.

This is the best and safest bet. I hope I have been helpful.

I can backup a 360 game to my computer using wxripper, but is it possible to retrieve the SS.bin file without the original 360 drive, if so how?
