Im new to this, but when I try to encode the WAV file created from DVD2AVI, it simply does... nothing, the "converting file" popup shows for like 1/2 a second and then disappears, doing absolutely nothing... could someone tell me whats wrong?... thanks!!!
Check the size of the WAV AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI generated to you, please. If the filesize is something ridiculously small (read: under 100MB), then you've selected an audio track from AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI that either doesn't exist or can't be converted. DTS soundtracks can't be converted, so you should stick with either AC3 (and downmix it) or select Dolby Surround (doesn't require downmixing) audio track.
I have the same problem. The file I created is more than 1 Gig in size, but CDex doesn't convert it. It just shows the screen in a flash but doesn't encode... I checked all settings.
Maybe it is the AC3 --> downmix problem. But I don't know how to do this!
I had the same problem. DVD2AVI produced a perfectly fine .WAV file (~900MB for a 90 minute movie), but CDex just did nothing, with no error message.
I compressed the file using LAME from the command line, then used CDex to put a RIFF-WAV header on the resulting .MP3 file. Although it seems it would have been easier still to use another command line tool like WaveMP3.
Of course, it would be easier STILL if LAME could add a RIFF-WAV header. :-)
