PS2 - - SCPH-70053 - - PAL Format - - U.K

I am trying to play NTSC-J format games on my console. Genuine imports, I'm unsure if you can only use burned copies with Swap Magic - do you?

I purchased Swap Magic 3.6 which was a new copy, and also (I'm quite sure) a genuine copy - both the CD and DVD discs. I am also sure I have fitted all the keys(?) correctly.

I have tried both discs but mostly the CD one.

First once I'd got to the screen where it says 'load program' I changed the 'video mode' to NTSC and then swopped for the game - came back with the message 'not a valid PS2 disc'.

I swopped the discs again and booted Swap Magic, this time at 'load program' I loaded Swap Magic instead, it returned to the same screen, I repeated the process then it went onto a screen with the message 'there is no data' at this point I tried replacing the disc with the game and it would make a clicking noise as it turned and would then say there was no valid PS2 disc. After the 'no data' message I also tried pressing the x button before swopping the discs but it still said there was no valid PS2 disc.

Am I doing something wrong? Are the discs dodgy? Or, can I only play burned discs?.

Thank-you for your help. ^^

Is the NTSC-J format the Japanese format or U.S? And are the games CD or DVD format? You use the SwapMagic CD to boot CD-based games and SwapMagic DVD to boot DVD-based games.

You should be able to use SwapMagic to play import games. That's one of its features.

Alternatively, you can give CD/DVDLoader a try and see if that works.
