i know this has been asked and asked, but if i describe what i have done perhaps somebody can tell me what i have done wrong.

ok
i bought a psp 1.5 off ebay brand new, downloaded loads of games ready for xmas.
on xmas i downloaded and installed easy installer for psp.right so i can now see devhook installed(the one for 2.71 and below).when i goto games memory card devhook it switched to devhook ,i select the iso on the card, select 2.71 ans also the others as they should be,click on start,(at this point i have a umd in the psp although this is a film not a game umd(does this make a difference)the psp switched off comes back on in blue, i go to games there is now a umd icon saying to update to 2.71 and my memory stick icon.on the memory stick is only a devhook icon, which i select and it says, cannot load game data corrupt.i have tried about 8 odd games and they all have the same result, should i see the game icon in the new blue screen memory card or should i select the umd update to 2.71.any help would be appreciated as my 2 sons are getting a bit fed up.

o.k can really see why you can't load the games but the easy option is to install darkalex's custom firmware and the brand new devhook

here is a guide to installing both (with downloads)http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=58369

after its done dont forget to install the recovery folder just incase

Try using my guide to setup the latest DevHook 0.51:

BTW If you want to use the 3.02 OE-B custom firmware use my guide (it explains way more stuff than the PSP-Hacks one that flightx linked to):
