Yes, you heard right, Mathieulh & Dark_AleX teamed up and are working on a TA-082 downgrader. More information is avaiblible here, as of now it's a speculation:

great thanks for getting our hopes up...but what is the point?

will this allow us to install 3.03OE-A/B? which would let us play psx games on the psp?!

According to mathieulh, the Downgrader flashes 3.02 OE firmware straight off.
UPDATE: This process can only be run from 2.71 HEN
UPDATE2: Dark-Alex.org now reporting TA-082 Success
Update3: Success currently stands at 50%
