modded xbox freezing

Ok i am still new to this but i seem to have got most of the modding stuff right but now i have a problem.
Certain games fail to load like mortal kombat armageddon and dead or alive ultimate.
Mk7 will go until the load game screen comes up and it shows nothing.
On a normal xbox it will show a choice to load from a memory unit or load a profile from hdd, but on mine,a blank screen.
I tried deleteing any saved mk7 games but that dont work.
I copied the game to hdd but it still does the same thing so i dont think it is the dvd drive...............any ideas?

@blackside:try 1 of 2 things: clean your dvd drvie's lens, or you might have to reinstall your softmod.

tried both and i used sid 4 deluxe to install.......
i was just wandering if there are any hidden files i am missing or need to delete.
also today i tried a retail dvd and it didnt work
also have dvdx and xbmc installed as apps if that helps

It might just be the sid 4 iv heard of other ppl having problems with it also
