I am using magic switch on a slimline PS2 (the newest one.. it's scph-77001... probably) and swap magic 3.6... I guess the swap magic part is partially irrelevant to my problem. I'm not trying to use action replay on a backup at the moment.

The problem is that whenever I try to use action replay, the magic switch won't let the disc stop when I want to swap discs out. The variation of the magic switch I use has one piece (I think it was tool d) inside the ps2 to interrupt the micro sensor, the second piece is essentially glued from a sticker onto the on/off switch, and the third piece is in the break part of the dvd drive. Someone told me to take a magic switch piece out (the only one I can take out is the break, tool B), but not only is it annoying to have to take the break part out of the ps2 every time I want to use it, that particular piece doesn't actually stop the disc from spinning. It just slows the spinning down to some kind of erratic ps2 disc drive epileptic seizure.

Is there any different cheat disc (other than the magic swap CODER) I CAN use with the magic switch that will spin down so I can swap it out? Do I just have to give up if I want to keep the magic switch in the PS2? Help, please.

All cheat discs these days will continue spinning until you press eject to change over discs, at which point you would insert Swap Magic again, boot it, then swap out for the backup. Once it's booted then cheats should be active. This works for Xploder, Gameshark & Codebreaker. AR MAX, being a pile of cack, is hit & miss as to whether the cheats will be active or not.
The only device that ever stopped once its codelist was loaded was AR2v2, but that was scrapped 2-3 years ago, and is no longer supported with new codes.
