Hi. I have my dad's old PS2 version 7. I got a no solder mod chip for it and Swap Magic 3 v3.6 from www.mod-chip.com recently but cant get it to work. I followed mod chip's installation instructions to install the chip so I'm confident its installed right. My dad still has all his games at his house, so instead of ripping them I just downloaded .rar's off the net. I extract the .rar to an .iso burn it with Nero at its lowest speed. Most of them .iso are big so I use DVD+R discs. I boot Swap Magic 3 dvd on the ps2 then open up the cd drive and place in the burnt dvd. Swap Magic will read it for a second then go back to its main menu saying. "Not a valid PS2 disc". I've tried several different disc and have tried using a Zoneloader Swap Magic fix dvd, but nothing will make the burnt dvds load. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using memorex DVD+R discs. They work fine for burning PC games and movies. But my swap magic has never worked. I just got it and have not been able to play any games

that's because memorex is the single more horrible media brand out there. get yourself some tayo yuden or verbatims and try again. ^.^

If when you say you "open up the cd drive" you're meaning that you're pressing EJECT, then that's why the discs aren't being recognised as PS2 discs. You've reset the TOC, the PS2 knows this, and is expecting a proper disc.
You need a swap method such as replacement fliptop case, slide card, or magic key set to be able to swap out discs without the PS2 knowing.

I thought having the mod chip would make it so I dont need a flip top or slide key.
