I have the 4 cd PAL version of FF8 and it just stays at the black screen on a NTSC v15 ps2 with matrix infinity. All my other psx/ps2 games work. I've messed with the config menu to no avail. has anyone else had this problem or is there a special config that I have to use in the matrix config section for this game? using TY CD's, have burned at 2, 4 and 6x's. thanks

Final Fantasy 8 has anti-mod protection what you need to do is download the patch and run it with ppf-o-matic3 to remove the anti-mod prtection. Even though you have a good modchip (i have a DMS4 Pro SE)and they say it removes all the anti-mod that just not true.

go to the link and download ppf-o-matic3

then download the Final Fantasy 8 Protection Fix (PAL Version)

Im happy to hear it works for you. Just remember to check every time before buring a game to see if it has anti-mod protection,and if so just remove it when the right patch.
