PSX Emulation on 3.02 OE-B, Help!!!

Hi, just downloaded dark alex's OE-B firnware. but am having trouble with the psx emulation.
I have ripped final fantasy 7 (PAL) and crash bandicoot 2 (also PAL) and have tried to play both but when i try to launch them they dont seem to boot. I get the psx emulation screen then the screen goes black. It lets you into the emulation menu but the game doesnt play.

So here is what i did if anyone knows where ive gone wrong will you please let me know.
1) ripped iso with magic iso
2) downloaded popstation and popstation gui + hotshots eboot and keys.bin file
3)put all files in same folder inc cygwin.dll and remamed eboot to base.pbp
4)put iso rip in folder
5)ran popstation GUI and selected Iso
6)placed created eboot and keys.bin file in a folder in psp\game

also i have tried converting my ff7 rip to NTSC but still didnt work
but the eboot of hotshots golf 2 does work!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I Just downloaded crash 2 NTSC from a torrent site and that worked on my psp. so is it something to do with my rips being PAL or am i converting the wrongly?

popstation has problems with PAL games, sony had similar ploblems with the emulator themselves

always read the readme

Ahh rite, thing is though the readme says PAL give various graphics problems: graphics glitches, and displacement of screen but doesnt say anything about not being booted, and ive read posts on forums of people sucsessfully emulating a PAL version of FF7
