I'm sure many people have already asked this question, but I am wondering what I would need to do with an xBox 360 in order to rip games. Is there a way I can do it without a mod? (Such as put it onto my computer and FTP to xBox 360) or some other way. Basically I want to be able to rip games, but not be blocked from xBox live when xBox figures out how people are hacking the xBox 360's. Thanks.

No. You can NOT FTP the 360 yet. You have to open the 360, put modified firmware on the DVD Drive and then you can rip your own games.. But only with a Samsung 360 drive. If you don't want to use your 360 drive to rip games, get a Samsung SH-D162c PC DVD-ROM drive.

So the modified firmware will let me rip games onto the drive. Do you think xBox will block that from xBox live? And how would I go about getting the firmware?

No, you aren't going to be banned yet. Might be sometime but I doubt it. You can get the firmware files from the usual spots.. torrents or newsgroups. I'd reccommend the SH-D162c
