Hi, One thing you can do is maybe try a google search and try find a diagram. I looked and found a diagram for my Duo 3 mod chip. It will show you where to connect the wires to and so on. Hope This Helps!!!

First of all, the intention of having a modchip is to play your "backup games" that you already purchased the original, not cuz the games are too expensive and you wnat a cheap way out. Just to clear things up, it is illegal to copy games that you owned or do not own (depending on countries). Not to make this a big deal, but it'll at least get you out of trouble in this forum.

Now the fun part begins...

When was the modchip bought? The reason I asked cuz if it was bought before November 2004 then your chip might not be compatible with the slim version. It's all depend on the version of your ps2 slim. If your ps2 is a newer version, your MX4 is useless unless you flash it with the newer bios. The guide you can find here. By the way, if you're inexperience with soldering, I suggest get some practice, otherwise your newphew gonna end up with a piece of junk.

If you want further help, you'll need to tell us what version is ur ps2.
