hdadvance dump doesn't recognize my hdd

i put the hdd in the back of the ps2, ran hdadvance, formatted the new hard with the hdadvance software, took the hdd out, and connected it to my comp, but when i ran hdl_dumb.exe it didn't recognize the hdd and "locally connected playstation 2 hdd" was not enabled. any suggestions?

when u connect the hdd to ur pc make sure its in slave mode

i got it to work using WinHIIP V1.7.6

I already solved it.

The disk had a problem. I repaired the hd connecting it to my PC and repairing the disk with WinHIIP_V1.7.5. Then I was able to use the disk normally with hdl_dumb. I tried with versions 0.8.6 and 0.8.1, but only this last one worked.
