i recently noticed my dell would not play audio on any dvd. after going to dell's website, i immediately found a link via support naming the problem. i'm led to believe the problem lies more with sonic cineplayer than dell. at any rate the patch is easy to find on dell's website. if you have another brand pc, but still use sonic cineplayer, you may well also face this problem. i should imagine whatever brand you're using will offer the patch also. i hope i posted in the right place. i just wanted to pass this along, as i am very grateful for afterdawn's site and the no nonsense way it's moderated. i love that people just looking to stir up trouble are quickly dealt with, leaving the rest of us to share information in a friendly fashion. i hope i've managed to help someone, as this site has been so good to me. below is the link that is direct to the patch that cures the problem, at least on a dell.
