ok i am very new to all of this...I just got the new slim PS2 and i am wondering....can i use only swap magic to load my back ups....or do i also need something that makes the system not recognize the cd tray is open?

You also, as you say, 'need something that makes the system not recognize the cd tray is open'.
In your case, this would be either a custom replacement fliptop case, or a set of Magic Keys.
You could do the 'Tape & Tissue' mod, but thats only a temporary method & you need to do it again every so often. Best to get a proper soft-mod solution, putting a small amount of cash into it to get big savings out of it, rather than being a cheap-a*s! Its better in the long run.

ok thanks for the reply ive been looking at the lid...and i see a nub in the back that when you push down pulls the white thing back that holds the cd and also presses a button when closed...is this the only thing that recognizes the lid is closed??

also i was looking into one of the modded flipto lids or w/e and do i have to open my ps2 to put it on?? cause i rather not!

and what are these "keys" you are talking about? do they void your warrenty too? got a website?

well i found a link to the magic keys...they look pretty good i think thats what i will go with!....do you recommend or use them?....also should i get the newest version of swap magic?
