Already did a forum search btw, but most of the threads are really deep and none really answered my question.

This Xmas I picked up a PS2 (finally...) and plan on using some form of swap discs on it. I'm wondering what are the chances of brutally murdering the PS2 by either

A) Using the included sensor blocking steel pieces or,

B) Opening up the PS2 and going the tape/tissue route.

Been hearing horror stories of users that insert the steel sensor blockers and POOF their PS2 stops working for no reason...so trying to avoid that. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and my PS2 is an SCPH-75001.
