VR Mode to Video Mode Copy (Sony)

Apolgies in advance if this has been answered elsewhere.

I have the Sony HXD710 and usually copy to DVD-RW in VR mode to avoid aspect ratio problems and have more flexibilty with chapters, finalising and re-writing etc.

I want to make some permanent copies of recordings from the DVD-RW's onto DVD-R's (in video mode) so they can play on other DVD players as unfortunately VR Mode is not compatible with some players.

Can this be done on a PC with something like Nero? Could I dub from -RW back to the Sony HDD and then dub again onto DVD-R in video mode? (This seems a long winded way though.)

Any advice gratefully received.
