Well i have had this problem for the longest time. Even when i was on xp, regular cd-rs ( what ever brand) would ocassinaly work. Now im in vista and i cant at all now. I burn a lot of dvd's with out problem all the time, but i stick in a cd-r and the drive wont even detect the blank cd. This is a brand new cd spindle i bought recently, and the cd-rs work on my moms computer. i know its not the drive because i got a 2nd burner thats external, and i stick in a blank cd-r and Nero wont detect it either, same thing, i tried a million brands of cd-rs also! it just keeps saying to stick in a black media when i am sticking in blank cd-rs!!! Anyone got any idea what it could be?

thanks alot in advance

-Tony

My os : Vista rtm
