my psp wont play umds???! please help

i have a unchipped psp v1.5, ive messed around with the hacks but stayed far from bricking it, my psp used to easily play umds, but know it doesnt (not even movies), before i could use devhook, fastloader and play stuff like doom, but know i cant, i bought the psp on launch for over $250, please can someone help me!!

no not at all, it still lets me use devhook 0.46, but i just cant play any games, and i cant use umd emulator

so basically the psp just wont read UMDs rite? does it make weird sounds?

when i insert any umd it starts to read (shows them circles in the bottom right corner) but then makes this grinding type of noise

the laser is probably bad.. imo u should take it to futureshop or bestbuy etc and get it fixed
...

yes.. im using the 3.02OE firmware which allows u to play in noUMD mode, i believe u can do that with devhook as well but im not sure
however some games will not work with no umd

thanks, i looked around for it and it messes with the psp flash, so i dont want to take the risk...if the laser is messed up how come stuff like doom cant play?

its really quite safe but i understand if u dont wanna mess with the flash..
what were u using to play doom?
