I am just interested know how long it takes for most people to process a DivX avi from the vobs. It depends on the CPU power largely, I suppose. So can people post their CPUs and average processing times?

My CPU is an AMD 1800, with an average time of 3.5-4 hours.

CPU, amount of memory, length of movie, difficulty of movie to encode...am i missing anything?

Pentium 4 1600 about 4 hours for 90 to 100 minute movie. And thats using multipass method, using 1 pass quality based maybe 3 hours.

Wow thats a lot of encoding...

Probably due to people doing more than 2-passes during encoding...maybe 3 to 5 passes would need 9 hours to complete.

Are you talking about DivX to VOB or vice versa. The former shouldnt take anywhere near as long as the latter. The latter taking around 9 hours on my computer using TMPGEnc. I have a p4 2.53GHz with 768MB DDRAM
