After I back up my file ready for burn there are the options "run deep analysis before back up" and then the "run back up in low priority mode" also "compress video with high quality adaptive error compensation", or having the option to chose Maximum smoothness, smooth, sharp(default), or maximum sharpness. Could some one explain what is the best option, or does it all depend, and when would those circumstances be.

Thank yoy very much in advance.

Larger movies where compression becomes a problem is the main use for the Quality Settings. Deep Analysis and compress with AEC are the keys. Most often I leave Shrink at the default sharp. The smooth and sharp settings can enhance output according to viewer taste. There's some recommendations (which I forgot), but you'll learn a lot by using the different appearance settings and see how you like them.

@tjlmbklr

"Quality and longevity" are very important to me, so when there is 70% or lower via DVD Shrink's Quality Ratio (meaning 30% or higher needs to be transcoded), then I'll use "DA + AEC + Max Smooth."

I've just answered the same question here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/441832#2673817 -- with that being said, try to experience all them and see which one you prefer more.

Best of luck!!

I agree with alkohol, but I'd use the DA even sooner. That part doesn't take a lot of time and it improves the video output, especially as the compression increases.
