My options are:

a) Gameshark 2 (20 bucks) and use the PSP as my USB uploader

b) AR Max EVO with the Thumbdrive

Is a) even possible in an attempt to save 20 bucks for something I'm gunna use once :D

The PS2 Action Replay version is known to corrupt some memory cards, leaving corrupt files on the card that cannot be deleted by the PS2. The Action Replay can, however, fix the memory card by formatting it, but the corrupted data cannot be restored. Furthermore, it costs $40. I would buy the Gameshark and save 20 bux, but if Codebreaker is available I would get that instead, since it is superior to Gameshark & the same price ($20). Use the extra $20 and buy yourself a nice dinner! :D

Good Luck!

I cannot confirm or deny if you can use your PSP in place of standard USB drive to transfer the relevant files. Because of the way you framed your post, I assumed it was possible (as in you definitely knew you could use your PSP). As such, I would perform a forum/Google search to find out if it is indeed possible.

I applied it with GS 1.2 and my PSP... so confirmed. You just have to follow decent instructions as found at:

Only pain was getting the Title.DB code right for my PS1 game cause the generator would'nt work on my system and my DVD drive showed a different value ;) Finally figured out the decimal spots though.
