If you just want to watch the game you should just go watch a real game.
It's a waste of money buying a game if your not going to play but hey that's your choice.

I actually have the same question and here is why. On the XBOX360 there is no way to save in game or sim the rest of the game. So if you play like 9 minute quarters it takes over an hour to play a game and if something comes up you cant save or finish the game. The next idea is to go to controller section and place computer in control so you can let them finish for you.
