Mod chip or swap disks?

If you have a mod-chip, do you have to do all the things you have to do for swap disks? (IE reducing TOC, CDLoader, zoneloader, ect.)

thx again, i had one other question, how long can you leave it on untill it overheats?

All of those modchips have overheating protection--the chip will switch off if the chip or the PS2 Motherboard gets too hot.

what PS2 version is the best for the DMS 4 Pro SE?

i have a v7 and a v4.

PS2 V7 seem to have the most reliable laser, thus get that one modded.
