Lego Star Wars on HD Advance 3.0

I've got Lego Star Wars installed onto my HDD fine, and for the most part it plays fine, but when I go into free-play mode there are no enemies. If I then exit the level I find Dexter's Diner entirely deserted too.

I've tried enabling mode 3 in HD Advance but it made no difference.

Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions about a solution?
