i've browsed your forums for the last few months and you guys are all really great. theres some really great information here. too much in fact as a i can spend hours scrolling threw things.

i have a NON TA-082 mobo. i'm running version 2.71 firmware. as of last night i installed devhook "K" easy installer. i also use fastloader for dumping UMD's. i have a couple 2 gig mem sticks so space usually is not an issue.

is it ok to use the devhook k easy installer on a non ta-082 psp?
mine seems to work great and i tested with MGSPO. i just want to make sure that using this is ok since what i usually see is "for TA-082 users only"

wondering if it's ok to change the wall paper on any version i emulate? i use to have my own wall paper on 2.71, which helped me to know when i was in that mode. after installing the devhook k it changed my 2.71 to the same wall paper as when i emulate 1.5 or 3.02.

i use fastloader with WinRAR, and UMDGen for backing up umd's. is there a better way to do it?

i also use USBHOSTFS for playing my iso's from the computer. i don't see anyway to use this though when emulating 3.02. please correct me if i'm wrong.

any advice that could be given would be great. it seems there are many ways to do things and i just want to make sure the way i'm doing them is ok.

thanks much,
ZenDuo

what i think the best thing for you to do is go up to 3.02 oe-a. you dont have to go through all that mumbo jumbo like going through devook and mounting images emulating fw and stuff like that. the best thing to do it upgrade to 3.02oe-a, and if you feel the need to, 3.02 oe-b to play your psx games. by upgrading to 3.02oe-a you eliminate the need to start devhook up and all that crap. if you wanna play your isos you simply put it in the root of your mem stick in a folder called ISO. then it all shows up under the games menu on your memstick. theres many great guides out there to follow so you dont screw up upgrading to 3.02oe-a. its just a matter of finding them which isnt that hard either.

thanks for the info. upgrading to 3.02oe-a sounds like a good option. i found one guide on this. if i upgrade do i still have the capability of playing iso's through my usb connection, or would i have to reinstall devhook to do this? should i format the memory card before beginning the upgrade? right now the mem card has the contents from devhook "K" easy installer on it.

thanks again,

it is an awsome option. and yes it does support iso and cso files via usb. like i said, just place your cso or isos in the root of your memory stick in a folder called ISO. so it should look like this

- F: (or whatever your psp drive letter is)

ISO (create the folder if you have to with full caps)
then place your cso and isos in here.

when your done all that then it should appear in game -> memory stick. but this is all after youve upgraded to 3.02oe-a. to run the iso just simply click X. as for devhook, it is not needed to play isos or emulate a firmware because it is a mix of 3.02 and 1.5, best of both worlds. It is recommended that you format your mem stick as long as you backup your files. hope this all helped.

getting ready to take the plunge. i'm using the guide made by eternalis. one thing i'm not sure about is this. "8. Now copy the oeupdmaker, oeupdmaker%, 302oeflasher, and 302oeflasher% folders to X:\PSP\GAME\ (or X:\PSP\GAME150\ if you are running 2.71 SE on default settings)."... since i'm on version 2.71 do i need to create the GAME150, or do i put it in the GAME folder that is there?
