Auto burn after shrink, setting nero writing speed?

Ever since i installed my new lightscribe 840 burner, after dvdshrink processes it automaticaly burns with Nero. My new burner came with a Nero installation disc & incorporated itself to burn with Nero automaticaly after shrink. Before this install i always went back to DVD Decrypter to write my disk. I decided to keep the Nero writing because it made my back up process easier. Anyways i noticed my write speed with Nero is 16x. although my back-ups come out great, no complaints, i heard through our foruum you should burn @ half the speed. (8x). well i go into the Nero program & i don't even have an option for 8x, the slowest is 16x. Do you guys think i should just leave it since my backups are good, or if not how can i change the writing speed to 8x or slower. thanks in advance

P.S How do i find out for sure which Nero program is writing my discs. i do a pc search for Nero & probably 30 or 40 options come up?

Hey seadale
Nero's Burning Rom is the app that Shrink uses to burn.

When using Shrink w/ Nero autoburning you change the burn speed in Shrink.
When you click backup click on the burn settings tab. Pick you speed there.
Have a blank in the burner 1st to list the speeds.

If you're using the same drive to read and write from you may have limited burn speed options like 2.0x,2.4x or max.

Shrink will also autoburn w/ decrypter too. You can pick that option under select backup target in the dropdown.

I'd stick with burning at 8x - lessens the chance of errors or playback issues.

thanks once again karen. I would have never thought i would have changed the speed in shrink, when Nero was doing the burning. But that did the trick. heres to ya. Happy New Year!!! ;-))
