S-Video problem.

Hi, thanks in advance for anybody who can help.

I recently bought a cable to go from s-video to the red, white, and yellow plugs on a TV.

I followed a tutorial online on how to connect to the TV,
plugging the cable in before booting the computer,
going into display properties and settings
activating the second monitor, and click apply.

I do all of this and the screen flashes black for a second, but all i get out of my tv is a quick flicker and then darkness again.

I checked to see i was on the right imput selection on the TV, and i tried rebooting the computer again, but nothing seemed to work.

my video card is ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 series.
