i have installed devhook .51 installed the eboot.pbp for the firmware instaler it went through like a reporgrame of the psp black screen loads of writing up and down the screen couple of minits later it reboots ,, jobs a gud un
went into devhk with no iso games instaled and version 3.1 in the settings wehey cracked it . out comes the memory card instaled my games in the iso gets ready to play away the night on my new found glory!! mmmmmmmm
was told this would eliminate any problems i had of trying to play new games.
but still the dam thing says that
the disc cannot be started the region code is not correct??
i am using a movie umd in the drive
settings on the devhook menu read
umd image emulation
cpu clock 233/133
umd sfo ver have tried both settings
menu on boot have tried both again
preload 89200000
firmware not supported
remote port not supported
this is all on my jap psp with 1.5 firmware while using a uk umd movie in the drive

Hold R as you boot the psp to get to the menu to select umd regions.
Also, are you sure your iso's are in the correct folder and correct format?
They should be in the ISO folder (obviously) and when you load devhook you can scroll through which ISO it loads from the devhook menu.

yes i put them in the iso folder the games. i am told they have all worked on the .46 devhk so the should be the right format but i am no expert on this. thanks for the reply been trying to get this working all day 12 hours searching the net.

are you sure you installed it ok... is devhook working ok... can you enter the devhook menu and emulated firmware?
Oh and do you have the recovery console folder in with the devhook files?

yeah it lets me emulate from 2.71 2.80 2.82 3.01 it says ms or flash+ms next to each one. so think its instaled ok
regards the recovery console? dont think so is this needed what is it
although when i try for 2.71 or the others it just turns off then when i turn it back on its back to 1.5 it will only reboot on the 3.1 firmware.
in the botom left corner it says
--- umd: mso:/iso/game name .iso ( game name you want to play)
or you can choose---umd: umd disc
if you choose umd disc it reconises the disc and plays the film this is strange as on the devhk .46 it never reconised the disc was there so i must be getting closer to a solution? i hope

No, the DevHook launcher says emulate fw 2.71-2.81, but if you don't have the firmware dump, it won't launch. I ran into the same problem with 0.51 because the Update extractor (dumps 3.02 into the right directory) didn't dump it to the right directory. Make sure under the folder dh at the root of your memory stick, you have some folders in 271\flash0, cause if you only have kd, you don't have the firmware files.

just looked the folders are there 2 in each one from 2.71 up to3.01 although i would have thought that there was not much point to downgrade in the emulator as 3.1 would play all games

You mean the PlayStation emulator? Beware because only the Custom 3.02 OE-B can play PS1 titles without a PS3. But if you upgrade to Sony's 3.02, you have to invest 600+ dollars on a PS3 and you have to buy your PS1 titles off the Sony store instead of using your own PS1 discs to makes ISOs.

I can't think of what you are doing wrong sorry, but my devhook dosen't let me chose the firmware, it just boots right into 3.02 emulated.
I'll upload the files I used later on so maybe you can try it with them and reinstall it.

just got realy miffed and have updated again to dev hook .52
it says you have to give a bit to get a bit so here is a great programe for backing up your dvds so you dont scratch or sit on yer dvd and bust it( as long as you have purchased the original so you dont break copyrite laws) its called dvd 43 and works with Nero set it running in the background and vwaalaa you can burn disc t disc from your crispy new un to a DVDR. bust that you aint lost out
i hope sumone knows whats wrong.
for a start its a jap psp 1.5fw was using fastloader worked ace. wanted new games i got some which came with dev.46 new games wunt work with fastl so loaded dev on the memory card.
got it on ok fw 2.71 but dev .46 dint load a iso game file as it did not like the region code of the umd.....?? ( using a movie umd region 2 uk)
asked what the prob was...
was told to load dev .52 finally got it on the stick following these instructions
Copy the files inside MS_ROOT to ms0:/.
Use the PBP Unpacker on an untouched FW3.03 PBP and extract the DATA.PSAR file.
Copy the DATA.PSAR file to ms0:/.
Copy the FW3.03 PSAR Dumper into ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
Run the PSAR Dumper on your PSP and press ?X? or the ?Cross? button when prompted to.
It should automatically return to the XMB once it is done.
Run DevHook v0.52.
Select ?Flash Install.?
Select ?Setup firmware from PSAR dumper.?
Once it is done, go back to the main DevHook v0.52 screen.
Select ?Firmware.? Load DevHook v0.52 again and start FW3.03.
Select ?Firmware 3.03.?
Select ?Start.?
Reboot the PSP.
did all the gubbins and it loaded 3.03 (cool as cook)
thought my probs were over mmmm think not
in the settings you can select the umd image to emulation or umd disc
the thing still says it dunt like the region code of the umd when i try to load iso games from the card in emulation.
but if i select umd disc it will let me play the movie.
