I have been offline for the holiday and now upon my return, i am reading about lots of happenings in the world of the PSP. I have searched the forums for info on the new PSX stuff but am still very confused. Basically, I have a 1.5 with Devhook .52 running on it now. It emulates 3.01 firmware. Apparently 3.02 firmware is required for PSX games. How exactly do I go about getting this to work without updating my 1.5? I did not see that there is a new devhook out that emulates 3.02.

Download 3.02 OE firmware and install, easy from 1.5.... then upgrade to 3.02 OE-B and enjoy your ps1 games too :)

Okay, a new custom firmware was relesaed. It is called 3.02 OE-B. It is way better than 1.50 so you should upgrade to it. This is the frimware that allows you to play your own PS1 games. That practically ever PS1 game made. With this, you don't need devhook. You should know that devhook can't play PS1 games. 3.02 OE-B can play all homebrew aswell.

Use eternalis' guide to installing OE-A or OE-B (it's easy to find)

yeah we are, there's no need to stay at 1.5 anymore cause 3.02 oe-a has all the homebrew capabilities of 1.5 plus 3.02 features and you can play psx games

its not giving up 1.5 as such, its just replacing it with a hybrid firmware that allows you have all the functionality of 1.5 and 3.02 in one firmware.

Exactly. 3.02 allows you to play the latest games (including ISOs) without the hassle of DevHook, plus you can play PS1 games full speed and homebrew is working. it blows 1.5 out of the water. No more need for those dern % folders.
