I'm trying to use HDLoader by installing it to my memory card using the Independence Installer. I have it working--I have copied BOOT.ELF and HDL8B.ELF to my memory card with it. BOOT.ELF is LaunchELF 3.4 and HDL8B.ELF is my patched version of HDLoader. So I can stick in my PS1 trigger disc and have it launch BOOT.ELF, which brings up LaunchELF and from there I can launch HDLoader 0.8B.

What I _want_ to do, though, is just have one elf file, I guess BOOT.ELF but actually have it be HDLoader so that when I stick in my PS1 trigger disc it immediately launches HDLoader and I don't have to mess with LaunchELF. I realize it's only like one extra button press doing it the first way but the thing is I've tried doing it this way and I couldn't get it working and it's bugging me--I don't see why it shouldn't work. What happens when I do it this way is when I boot using my PS1 trigger disc the screen turns white like it's about to pop up the PS1 BIOS animation but then the screen turns black like it's going to go ahead and launch HDLoader, but it doesn't and the screen remains black forever.

So anyway guys, I appreciate any help in advance.

Thanks.

First, get the latest version of uLaunchELF v4.08 http://orthogonl.byethost9.com/files/PS2...ELF%20v4.08.zip I'm not sure if its any faster boot up wise but it can't hurt.

This is an indirect way of automatically booting HDLoader FROM uLaunchELF, but if you go to the Configure menu->Set HDLoader elf to DEFAULT (top entry), which it will load after x seconds. Next, from the Config menu go to Startup Settings and set 'Default' Timeout - The time(in seconds) to 0. Also, make sure Initial Delay is set to 0.
