I just finished building my computer and i wanted to put windows on it. I saw online that there are 2 versions the upgrade that is around 100 and another that is 200. whats the difference between the 2 besides the price? Can i use the upgrade one to install windows? Or should i borrow the disk from a friend and use that to install it and save money? If i do use a friends disk what are the limitations with it?

Upgrade discs are, in my opinion, worthless. They can leave you with a fresh install that is buggy. You can go to newegg.com and buy a Windows XP Home OEM disc, which includes your windows serial # and install disc, for like $85. Well worth the money. And its a upgrade disc, so to use it you will need another version of windows already on your pc, for it to let you "upgrade".
