hi o bought a dvd+r/+rw NEC nd110a/gef and it was an oem well i now know what oem is and i have no one to help me so here goes.........the dvd+r does it have to be formatted first before you can use it? i think this is my prob it came with nero express 5.5 and i have no idea how to format.
when i put a movie dvd it copies to the temp folder then ask for the blank dvd when i put it in nothing happens . does anyone know how to help me with this?

You do not have to format the Disc. You will need to download a program called DVD Shrink and use it to De-CSS the disc, since it is encrypted with CSS. Then you will place the copied contents into a VIDEO_TS folder and burn to disc.

ok well i am new to this but i do have DVD Shrink ..............i do not know what De-CSS the disk is are you talking about the blank DVD?????? but , let me tell you what i did try . Once dvd X copy had made the video_ts folder with the data i used Nero to burn it to a DVD+R worked great now my son can throw this around too lol, but seriously is there a place on this site to get me started like tuts and such ?

The CSS protection is on the original movie, not the blank. If you just use Nero to download the movie to the harddrive, the CSS protection screws up the movie so you can't do anything with it. This is why you have to use DVDXCopy or DVD Shrink to crack the protection before you copy to a DVD+R.

ok i used DVD Shrink with compression (had to even after deleteing parts it was too big) and it did great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Green mile is a big file lol. I was wondering if it would work as the disk had a bad scratch on it but worked great ty guys i feel much better
