Yeah, me 2. Can I get into it with a 3 year old and a 5 month old around? Do I have to play for hours on end just to feel like I'm actually doing anything?

the thing you need is time. people clock in hundreds of houirs into this game. im only at 40 and im addicted. it almost a bad thing. so becareful.

but the game is just gorgous. very nice details. bascailly a rpg game for 1st peron shooters to get into. becayuse no-one likes gay rpgs where you take turns ataction and denfending. in oblivion you do wat you want when u want.

must have for 360

i'm thing of buying a HDTV just for this game and for next gen disc player, which ever it may be

I've been thinking about picking it up. But First Person RPG... that's alittle weird.

Is there a lot of custom character options ? How is the online ?

I got Oblivion when I first got my 360, and it is awesome. It re-defines freedom in video games. You can do the main story, which will last you about 12 hours; you can complete one of the 4 guilds, which take probably another 10 hours a piece; you can do odd jobs for people; you can do the gladiator missions; you can even just go around exploring dungeons and/or killing everyone in town.

You don't need to play it for hours on end to get into it. It's one of those games that immerses you from the get-go. It can get addictive and would take more than a 100 hours to completely finish, but its the type of game you can just pick up and play whenever.

It's not weird for a first person RPG; in fact, I'd say it works better than most of its traditional counterparts. the sword fighting is impressive in first person, and you can switch to third person anyway.

The customization is good: you choose a race for your character - elf, dark elf, high elf, human, orc just to name to a few - and then change hair and whatever else you want.

You also choose major skills which decide what type of player you'll be. Like, you choose all spell skills if you want to be a mage, or all sword and block skills for an all-out warrior, or bow, stealth and illusion skills for a thief.

There is no online because it just wouldn't work well with the quests and everything.

Damn I wish I hadn't sold my copy a while back; in fact, I've just convinced myself to get it again just by writing about it.

This game was one of the reasons I bought a 360, I'd been looking forward to it for a long time since I was a big Morrowind fan. You can log a ton of hours into it but you don't have to to have fun with it. The freedom of the game is what makes it so much fun. You can make almost any kind of character you want, spellcaster, sneak, fighter, archer, or combinations (you can even make a guy who's good at talking to people and bartering), and then you can choose to do what you want, you can follow the main quest or go off and do your own thing.

If you've never played this game before I'd recommend at least renting it.

I played Oblivion for a week and it seemed pretty good, but I felt like I barely scratched the surface of it. I used to appreciate 40 hour plus games when I was younger and had few responsibilities, but I just don't have the time for them now. Now I prefer good games in that 10-15 hour range. Condemned is great BTW.

yes it is a huge step up from morrowind, oblivion you can pick which quest you want to do, then it will let you fast travel to the closest town if you have already been there. it also puts a map marker up in your hud to show you where you have to go and how far it is to get there. i have about 150 hrs in this game and play it here and there when i get the chance. and thats with a 7 year old and a 3 year old
