I burned the movie the breakup using dvdfab and i just burned the movie and no extras and when i went to play it back on the vts_01_2 that scene was in a different language other then english...What did i do wrong? When i copied the files to Nero to burn They were VTS files...5 of them and when it skipped each vts file during playback the picture would go black then comeback on...is this normal or is it supposed to play straight thru and not cut off when changing scenes?....It basically shows that island setup when i first pop the dvd in for playback then i select a scene.....that blackout is highly ignoring when it changes vts scenes Basically what i'm trying to say....anyway to join all the vts files together into one big file so the cut scenes don't do that?...Also how do i fix this language problem?

Hi Demon1777
Sounds like you used Nero Vision. Use Recode instead.
Since your doing movie only use the 'recode main movie to dvd' option.
Then click on 'import dvd' and add the video_ts folder for the movie.
Recode will only add the main movie file.

You can then uncheck the foreign audios too.

No worries - we'll get you going in the right direction :)

Recode is in Nero. Very similar to Shrink (same developer).

Recode will compress and burn the files like Shrink.

Here's a pic of where you can find Recode in Nero SmartStart

Which version of Nero are you using 6 or 7? Did Nero come with the drive? OEM version don't always come with all the options.

You can also use Shrink to do the same thing.
Open Shrink - click on re-author. On the right hand side find the folder the movie in in. Then drag over to the left the file that is listed under 'main movie'.
Uncheck the foreign audios then click backup.

Even if you're using using the demo of Nero 7 you should hopefully have Recode now.

Using Recode or Shrink I think should fix your problem.

When you added the files in Vision - they'll show up as separate titles. You could merge them in Vision but no need to use Vision for this when Recode or Shrink will do it much faster.

edit: typos

Yep you're right Shrink won't handle this one alone.

That's where DVDFab comes in - ripping it with that 1st then opening those files in Shrink. Shrink can now handle the movie.

Looks like you have an oem version of Nero that didn't come with Recode.
So with Nero 7 you have the it's a demo that I like is good for 30 days.

Not really following your next post. If you're now using Recode no need to put the original disc back in - Recode can't do copy protected movie unless you rip them 1st w/ DVDFab.
So just open the files already on your hard drive from DVDFab in Recode.

Yes if you pick your burner in Shrink - Shrink will then use Nero's burn engine (burning rom) to burn the disc.

When you click backup in Shrink under 'select backup target' your burner should be listed in the drop down.

Yep I was just getting ready to answer that post.
Rip w/ DVDFab Decrypter 1st - Shrink can't handle this one either by it's lonesome.

Ok try this: Run Nero's clean tool.
Reboot.
Now run a registry cleaner like ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options.

Now reinstall Nero 6. Use version 6.6.0.18. Here are links to use (just use your serial)
package 1
Package 2

Do you have to cleanout shrink or what? And if not is that stuff being listed in there take up hard drive space?

Are you doing a full back up or just movie only?

For full back up once you open Shrink pick 'open files'. Locate the folder for the movie.
Shrink will do the analysis bit. On the right hand side you can uncheck all the unneeded audios. I just leave the AC3-5.1 english. Helps save on compression. (even if the player doesn't have dolby 5.1 it will downmix it - so ok just keeping that one)

If doing movie only and/or used DVDFab to rip movie only - open shrink - click on re-author.
Now on your right hand side find the folder the movie is saved to.
Under 'main movie' drag that file over to the left.
Click on the 'compression settings' tab on the right. Uncheck all the unneeded audios there.

Now for either one click 'backup'. Pick your burner under 'select backup target'. Click on the 'burn settings' tab and pick your burn speed (go with 1/2 the rated burn speed of the media).
Click 'ok' and you're on your way.

If you already deleted the files/folder they will be gone. Reboot to make sure.
If the folder is still showing under 'select folder for temporary files' in Shrink - that's ok -Shrink keeps the defaults until you change them.

You're a good friend!

I backup anything I own & only let that get played. My kid and her friends are not very good w/ dvd's at all.
I find them around the house all the time in not so good condition :)

Let us know how it turns out.

edit: per usual typos
