I downloaded 2 movies (Both AVI) and when i play the file it starts off with a green screen and the movie will freeze but the sound is still going good....and it's like an image is frozen but the movie will keep playing but that one part will stay on the screen but any movement for the next scene slowly get its going again but other parts of the movie will freeze like that throughout...I hope that made sence to someone else, becuase thats the best i could explain it.

And will this still happen if i burn it to SVCD?

Download a single DivX codec and xvid codec of your choice. Get an AC3 filter as well.

Its sort off getting out of my league a bit. Im not really into AVI DVD Rips that much. Dela or powerdup are good at that. They should be along, or else you could try the DivX forum.

Did this problem with the dvd rips happen after you uninstalled your codecs and installed the ones from afterdawn?

Also, after this problem occured, have you tried converting a dvd to divx then to mpeg?

btw, for future reference, Dela is a guy :)

Hey no problem, you had a 50-50 chance, either you got it or you didnt.

Do you mean the vob files? If you do mean the vobs, wouldnt you retain more quality by converting straight to mpeg?

Well, I dont really do vcds but ive messed with TMPGEnc a bit and to output your vobs to divx you need to go to File--->Output Method--->avi file.
