Hi,
Im new here. I bought my ps2 off somebody. it was working perfectly fine and the warranty is still on it but i don't have the receipt to prove how old it is.

After about a week, i tried to play a dvd but it wouldn't work. I can hear the fan blowing though but the dvd spins too slowly. it won't even play ps2 dvd games either. But i don't think there's a problem with the lens as it reads cd roms and ps2 cd rom games perfectly fine.
I tried to fix the problem by buying a dvd lens cleaning kit but that didn't work either. Please help.

Does anyone know how to fix it or of any free guides on the net which could help?

hi get in touch with sony and tell them model number etc don,t tell them if it has been tamperd with etc they should repair it free of charge or exchange for you,ps sounds like dvd side of lazer has packed up,you can get sony telephone number via sony website
