ive been fishing around for a free burning program thats close to Nero. i havent found much out there. if anyone could give me some links that arent just free trials but are truly free, id appreciate it.

i need something thatll do things similar to Nero. such as compiling music files, mp3s, data cds, and stuff like that.

as to the original question, not sure myself as i only use Nero these days, have used loads of stuff in the past (non-free). in addition to Altercuno's suggestion (i rarely use imgburn but it's a great program), this might be worth a look - http://www.cdburnerxp.se

..i say might as i just googled for it, as i have heard of a free alternative and i think that's the one, not sure i'm afraid, been using Nero for sooooo long....

I have Nero but I've been slowly weaning myself off of it.

For cd's, I use CDBurnerXp pro 3. For dvd's, I use the DVD Decrypter and Shrink combination. Once I have my video_ts folder, I make an iso out of it using shrink, and then burn the iso file using decrypter.
