I have my ps3 hooked up through HDMI, but whenever it "switches" the video output to something (i.e. going from main menu to a game) the tv keeps flicking on and off from a "No Signal" message to what the ps3 is outputting every few seconds, and won't stay on the output unless I turn off the tv and back on... Is anyone else having this problem, and do you have a solution.

First off what output setting do you have it on? What is the highest resolution your TV supports?

If your TV only supports upto 1080i and you set it at 1080p you will get that problem you are talking about. To fix this problem turn off your PS3 and then Hold the Power button on the PS3 for longer than 5 seconds and the system will beep 2 times and then reset all settings to default settings letting you change settings on the XMB (cross menu bar).

I have no problem setting up my PS3 60GB via HDMI to DVI (my TV) using both settings 720p or 1080i at "Display Settings" (both played flawlessly) and yes I love the graphic (video quality) when playing Games or DVD movies. My 55" Widescreen HDTV is more than 3 years, but I was lucky to have both 720p and 1080i supported with DVI input.

As mentioned by poolpro, make sure your HDTV is fully supported (i.e. 720p, 1080i or 1080p is a plus).

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

My tv's native resolution is 720p and thats what i have it set on, it also supports 1080i... the ps3 won't even let me set it to 1080p since my tv doesnt support it.

Is your PS3 up to date as far as Firmware updates? The current version is 1.32

If you don't have that version you might want to give it a shot and update to see if that fixes your problem.

Are you set up using the the analog cables (Yellow, red, white) first?

If so, make sure you set your TV input to HDMI when you change the settings on the PS3 to HDMI.

If you're connecting throught the HDMI at first, I don't know what to tell you.

Yea, I had it set up with the composite cables that it came with and then did the system reset thing (when its turned off (red light) hold down till the 2nd beep) to get it to go through HDMI and have it set up to do hdmi of course...

weird thing is when i pop a ps1 game in it works fine... its just ps2, ps3 games, and game demos (havent tried movies or blueray).
