Does anybody know the answa to the above? I was just wondering! if not does anybody think it is possible to manipulate an xbox into doing so. As you can imagine no-one is really ready to let me play around with a new 360 so has any body any ideas???

Sorry..you need all the abuse the wolves will give you for being so stupid!! Of course it can't. If you want to play 360 games either buy the pc version or buy a 360..

That's fine.. I was nice really considering the ragging that went on to the 500 or so other threads on this subject last january.
I can explain why it will never be possible to play 360 games on an xbox..
First, the executable file that loads the game is .xex not xbe, and the cpu instruction set is completely different.
second..the 360 games are multithreaded for more than one cpu.
third.. the 360 has a lot more memory..

There we have it..you can't even play ps2 games on an xbox, or come to think of it dreamcast or saturn, sideways emulation isn't possible between same gen consoles so the 360 is out of the question. Nobody has made a successful xbox emulator for pc yet, and how much more in the way of hardware resources do you have available in a pc to run software emulation of hardware?
Remember an xbox is a low end pc these days..766 coppermine cpu and 64Mb ram...not even good enough to run xp and some apps..!

well i had to learn somehow and im glad ive now been put in my place! thanks for being so nice about it!

i will continue my quest in modding with something else!!
