Just baught me a new slim ps2. Can any one suggest a modchip. My model number is scph-77001. Ive searched around and need something just to play my backed up games. Nothing fancy.Dont care about online gaming either. Ohh yeah i dont want to burn my laser either or overheat my board.

My personal preference is for a Matrix Infinity chip. Consistent updates on their firmware and I've never run across a faulty MI chip.

That model PS2 doesn't have a laser issue, so you'll be fine.
