I just got a sony psp a month ago and it has the fw version 2.71 installed on it. I have tried to install the devhook program and followed this installation guide below (i have all the programs required in these instructions):
4) Move PSAR_Dumper2 and PSAR_Dumper2% to PSP/Game directory
5) Download PBP Unpacker (below)
6) Install it on computer and run after installation and click "Open"
7) Navigate to the 3.03 eboot file and open it, then extract the files to any directory
8) Move the DATA.PSAR file to the root of your memory stick
9) Open up the extracted devhook folder and move dh, fbm and PSP into the root of your memory stick
10) Disconnect your PSP and run the PSAR dumper from your memory stick via the XMB and follow the on-screen instructions (press X to dump)
11) Connect your PSP to your PC and copy the newly created F0 folder (root of your memory stick) and move it to dh/303/
12) Run Devhook v0.52 now and go down to flash install (uninstall the flash configuration if you have previously installed a previous firmware) and click install configuration (first option I believe). Hold O for a few seconds to confirm.
13) Now go to firmware and select 3.03 and boot up Devhook, good luck and have fun!
now the problem i am having is when i go to do step 10(which is the furthest i can go due to the dump not working) the psr dump, i click on it in the psp menu and it starts to load then just turns off my psp. it doesnt create a F0 folder in the root directory as it is meant to. And also when i click on the Devhook 0.52 file it says "This game cannot be started. The data is currupted." along with the dev 0.52 selection and the dsr dump selection it also has a corrupt icon aswell.
I do not know what to do as i am trying to play ISO's that i have on my computer and i know you need this sort of thing to be working properly in order to work the ISO's. Can someone help me out please? do i need to downgrade to 1.5? or something? just a detailed "for dummies" list of instructions on what i need to do.
forget about all this, use the easy downgrader from 2.71 to 1.50, then upgrade using the easy upgrader from 1.50 to 3.02 OE-A and then follow instructions to upgrade to 3.02 OE-B, follow the excellent guides from Touran exactly and make sure your psp is fully charged or at least 75%,
and remember to have a disc in when wanting to play ISO's,
Sorry about the dumb questions, mine is the 2.71 witht he TA-082, now i have been reading through a lot of threads and it says not to downgrade the TA-082 any further than fw 2.60. Can someone verify that for me. And if that is so, how do i go about running my isos on the psp if i can't downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade to the 3.02 OE-B version..
hmm i have a bad feeling about this...i did everything that is said below:
TA-082 downgrader by Dark_AleX/Mathieulh/Harleyg
This is an application to downgrade a ta-082 unit running 2.71 firmware and HEN-D
to 1.50, although teoretically can downgrade to any version, but only 1.50 has been tested.
The application, at the moment of writing this readme was tested in 5 psp's, with 5 success.
As always, this kind of application have risks, this one in concrete write to idstorage area
of nand.
The authors don't get responsabilized of any damage that may happen by the use of this
unlicensed software. You are on your own when doing it.
The method of ta-082 downgrade is based on research on hardware-downgraded ta-082 selled in ebay.
We realized that the process was not very complex, and easy to imitate by software.
READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DON'T SKIP ANY STEP
Instructions
------------
- Copy the UPDATE and idstoragechange folders into /PSP/GAME/
- Get the official sony 1.50 eboot and put it in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder with the name of
UPDATE.PBP
- Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
- Execute the idstoragechange. It needs 75% battery.
It will change some keyes of your idstorage needed to downgrade the ta-082.
- The program will exit to the XMB. Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb
as "Update X.YX" in the psp language.
- The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your psp to 1.50.
- At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the psp. Do it.
- If all went fine, you'll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and reenter your settings.
Welcome to 1.50.
But it turned off and didnt turn back on, so i turned the power switch on now the power light stays on and i cant turn it off and i just get a black screen...bad news? it said press x when the flash had finished. and i did everything as said :(
if u are on 2.6 then upgrade to 2.71if on 2.71 (easy installer)then down to 1.5 then up to 3.02 OE-A (easy installer)and then to OE-B(no easy installer but simple directions), just make sure of your mother board there are threads that shows you what you have
I am running the firmware 2.71 and have the TA-082, for some reason i think my psp just stuffed up as i did everything that was said in the instructions and got the exact files that was required....i had hen d running and i did the things that was asked....it flashed my psp and said push x, so i did then it turned off and never came back on, and now it dont do anything apart from the power light coming on...
