Original DVD not working

Hi all

I have a strange problem with my 360... written disks and original 360 games work fine, but when i try playing a DVD movie it does not want to work. At first I thought it was with the DVD but it seems to be doing it with all the DVD movies. I have searched the forum but the closest i have come to something similar is someone having issues with the cdrom ejecting 4 -6 times before reading, which i have tried but it just simply wont play the disk.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
